A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident caused the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
