It's a challenge for Australia to break new ground.

The highest peaks have long been mastered.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the record chasers, are the only things left for a team that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their hitters to possess a record if not afforded the opportunity.

What's definite is this ton was much more difficult to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in training, it's been a disappointing period because it seemed I lacked timing completely," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

When she was removed the team needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the assurance to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we are confident we can do it."

These statements will be the final thing rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.
